A Girly Boy

Head.  Wall.  Head.  Wall.  One of Boogie’s friends – who she has only recently decided she actually likes – has long, curly hair.  And, lo, he is a ‘girly-boy’.

Honestly, how hard do you have to fight?

I take some small amount of solace in the fact that this is pure parrotting; when challenged that boys can indeed have long hair, curly hair or both at the same time, she readily agrees.  ‘So he’s not a “girly-boy”, he’s just a boy with long, curly hair then?’  ‘Oh, yes.’

It is by these small successes that my life is measured.
